The iconic I LOVE NY design speaks to tourists, but what about actual New Yorkers who make this city what it is? Using a digitized pixel heart as container, I created space for symbols defining real NYers—military, LGBTQ+, Irish heritage, Ukraine supporters, countless others who call this home. The pixelated form allows infinite combinations while maintaining recognizable heart shape. Each symbol carries equal visual weight, no hierarchy, just democracy of belonging.

The Result: an inclusive love letter celebrating the beautiful complexity of who actually lives here.
